2026 Cadillac XT5 Overview at Trapp Cadillac
Midsize Luxury SUV Excellence
The 2026 Cadillac XT5 is a midsize luxury SUV that is known throughout the industry for its ample cargo room, refined interior furnishings, and its passenger spaciousness. Its standard engine is a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder with a 9-speed automatic transmission in either FWD or AWD with 3,500 pounds (V6) and 1,000 pounds (turbo four) in max towing. Optional engine upgrades include the 3.6L V6 option on the sport trim.
Trim Levels
Speaking of trim packages, the 2026 iteration of this model comes in three main trim levels. They are the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and the Sport editions. All are available in their FWD or AWD with optional package add-on's like the Onyx Package, which boasts enhanced tech and performance. The following is a breakdown of each trim level and what comes standard within that package:
Luxury
Even the base trim package focuses on luxury and includes synthetic leather, heated front seats, Bose audio (8-speaker), power liftgate, 8-inch touchscreen and begins with a 2.0L turbo engine. It includes 18-inch wheels with standard suspension, dual-zone automatic climate control, and wireless smartphone integration.
Premium Luxury
The next step up in trim levels adds even more features like leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, hands-free liftgate, wireless charging, navigation, a panoramic sunroof, 14-speaker Bose sound system, and an available upgrade to the engine, offering the V6 option and standard 20-inch wheels. It also comes with upgraded safety features like rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring.
Sport
This trim package level is all about performance. It comes with Brembo front performance brakes, sport-tuned suspension, standard Sport AWD, performance-oriented trim called the Premium Luxury Trim, a more potent 3.6L V6 engine, 20-inch sport wheels, and adaptive cruise control as part of the Driver Assist Package.
Additional Technology Package
If choosing either the Premium Luxury or Sport Trim levels, drivers can enjoy the new tech package add-on that includes a head-up display, 360-degree camera, and automatic parking assist.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Fuel economy tests estimate that the 2026 Cadillac XT5 will range between 18 and 22 mpg in the city and 26 to 29 mpg highway. The EPA has not released findings on the 2026 model yet, but estimations are based on previous years model. Since the vehicle hasn't changed drastically in design, function, or performance from previous years, it's safe to assume the EPA estimations will be accurate.
Interior Comfort
While the outside of a vehicle is important, as is the power and performance, it also should be comfortable to ride in and to drive. Thankfully, the Cadillac XT5 has earned high marks in this area as well. The layout for the first row and driver's position in particular is good and the back seat (second row) is roomy with plenty of legroom even for six-foot adults to spread out. Cargo capacity is another benefit, as this Caddy boasts lots of places to store and haul gear. Premium Luxury trim levels and above also offer front-seat ventilation along with other features that make it a joy to drive.
Warranty and Maintenance on This Cadillac
Cadillacs are considered the gold standard in the vehicle industry for good reason. The XT5's brand warranty matches or exceeds most of its rivals. In addition, Cadillac also foots the bill for the first visit after purchase. Generally, the warranty is broken down as follows:
- Limited Warranty: Four years or 50,000 miles
- Powertrain Warranty: Six years or 70,000 miles
- Complimentary Maintenance: One visit
